Professor Paulus Mzomuhle Zulu

Professor Paulus Zulu, Professor Emeritus and Director of the Maurice Webb Race Relations Unit at the University of Kwa Zulu Natal, is a Social Scientist by training. Zulu has published extensively in the field of political economy (sociology and politics) both nationally and internationally. Since 1984, Zulu has written numerous chapters in books, including “The Hefer Commission: An International Comparative Perspective”, published in 2004 and “Understanding the South African Political Culture”, published in 2012, to name just a few. In 2013, Zulu’s debut book,” A Nation in Crisis: A Search for Morality”, was released. His latest book, “Momentous Epochs in the History of the ANC”, was launched in 2024. From 1994 to 2022, Zulu served as a Member of the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences, Vatican City, Rome, an honour bestowed to very few academics internationally.

Mervin Ogle is a retired educationist with a distinguished career in Primary and Secondary education, specializing in teacher training and curriculum development. His expertise spans pre-service and in-service teacher education, both in South Africa and internationally. Mervin has led community-based projects in English, Health, Sanitation, Environment Education, Food Security, and Early childhood development. His holistic approach has improved schools and communities, leaving a lasting impact on South African education.
