The Hexagon Trust Bursary assisted me initially at Walter Sisulu University in 2013 when I was studying Clinical Practice which I later deregistered and applied for Pharmacy at Rhodes University the same year. In 2014 the bursary funded me to study BPharm now at Rhodes University which I am grateful for especially because it had given me a second chance. I graduated in 2018.
I am currently a designated pharmacist at Sbuys @ Spar Pharmacy Academy, where I lecture students for the basic and post basic pharmacist assistant course in Durban.
I do offer career talks more especially which involve pharmacy to students at High School.
Thank you Hexagon Trust for granting me this bursary to achieve my career dream of being a pharmacist.

The Hexagon Trust funding assisted me with tuition and accommodation fees for my undergraduate degree. The cost of university fees would have overwhelmed my mother who had 3 other children to take care of by herself following the death of my father due to kidney failure in 2011. The Hexagon Trust bursary was generous to such an extent that my only concern in University, apart from social issues, was just my academics. I believe that not having had the stress of financial difficulties for my undergraduate degree allowed me to have a holistic University experience, which is a privilege. The requirements to keep the bursary also assisted with ensuring that I pass each year in order to secure funding for the next year, this was a great motivation. Ultimately, the community meetings we held with the Trustees who encouraged us to serve our society planted a long-term seed of living a life that is aimed at serving humanity. The seeds planted have yielded fruit.
I now, run a non-profit organisation focused on building leaders and encouraging a culture of wholeness, service and integrity. Through the programme, we have hosted two Mentorship Days in 2024 and 2025 in partnership with the National Mentorship Movement and Bowmans as a sponsor for the venue. The NPO has supported over 100 students by providing a platform where they engage with industry professionals.
