The importance of a bursary
Studying at university is a life-changing experience that often requires some support. The Hexagon Trust awards several bursaries every year. These bursaries are awarded subject to the general rules and conditions of The Hexagon Trust Bursary Scheme. A bursary is a payment made to an eligible student to support their study. It is not a loan and does not have to be repaid. Bursaries are awarded to a range of students including; students facing financial hardship, students with records of high achievement, and students studying specific courses. The Trust has touched the lives of more than 1500 students since operations began in 1987. The numbers in the early years were small however, applications continued to flood since, resulting in workloads growing. Learners are motivated and encouraged to work towards reaching their potential of becoming the role models.
Bursaries are part of our commitment to rewarding academic excellence and enabling students from all backgrounds to realise their potential. A Bursary is more than just financial support, it can enhance your portfolio of achievements. The Hexagon Trust Bursary Scheme is a fully subsidised higher education and training scheme for disadvantaged South Africans.
